Luca Nougat has been created by Remmo and Fanny Beerepoot in Westbury in our states north.
The Beerepoot family started the Melita honey Farm in 2001 after emigrating from the Netherlands
From the beginning, they made honey ice cream but never had a use for the unused egg whites. The penny dropped on a holiday in France in 2008 when they visited the French town of Montélimar famous for its artisan nougat producers
The art of making Nougat
Making nougat takes patience to achieve all the complex flavours which make it so delightful - from slowly roasting the nuts, to the addition of delicate fragrant honey, spices, fruits and fine Belgian chocolate.
Their recipes are inspired by the traditions of the original artisans, and they use pure Tasmanian honey to create a range of Luca Nougat that is unique and absolutely delicious.
Luca Nougat products are 100% Tasmanian made and owned. They hand make and package their products on site in Westbury sourcing the honey from Tasmanian beekeepers.
They produce six flavours of nougat pistachio, leatherwood honey, hazelnut, peach, apricot and raspberry.
